Best Restaurants in Agonda – ThatGoanGirl Guide

Just the other day a few folks asked me to recommend restaurants in Agonda but it has been months (or rather, like two years) since I last visited. I spent a weekend there in January for a friend’s birthday getaway, and while it was nice to see the same old favourites, I’m all for trying new places. Here are the handful of places I went to, and I’ll be sure to update this blog post on Agonda’s best restaurants when I go again.

Restaurants in Agonda You Need To Try

Mariposa Beach Grove

Maroposa was a new find that we first heard of while Googling pizza places near our hotel in Agonda. It was a short walk to this restaurant that’s located on the beach. This Agonda pizzeria is located on a hotel property, and its decor is adorable. Sunny yellow interiors, lots of wall art featuring vegetables, and a wall of old Bollywood posters. With the beach ahead and sand between your toes, it made for the perfect place for some pizza and chill. We ordered a bunch of calzones and pizzas, all of which sounded like great options and had the right amount of ooey-gooey cheese and toppings, but strangely, everything we tried lacked seasoning. Even if you’re not an oregano-and-chili-flakes-person, you’ll need to generously load your slice up with it here.

The Meat Lovers pizza was the best, not just because it had a generous amount of toppings but because the saltiness in the bacon and cold cuts added much-needed flavour. The cheeses were great, and the cheese pull game here is strong. The pineapple pizza (yes, we got one of those) was average, and having grilled the pineapple 2x more would have made it great. Either way, go and enjoy the sunset, the happiness-inducing interiors, and the ocean breeze.

Fatima Bar and Restaurant

If you’ve gone to Agonda and not eaten to Fatima Bar and Restaurant, you’ve not been to Agonda! A rite of passage to holidayers in these parts, this restaurant is a cult favourite for its hearty portions, tasty food, and elaborate menu spanning everything under the sun. I’ve been here on every trip to Agonda – be it for a hearty English breakfast or Nutella pancakes, an evening snack of onion bhajiya and chai, a fish thali lunch, or a Continental dinner. The restaurant caters to vegetarians and non-vegetarians beautifully.

fatima restaurants in Agonda

Situated right on main Agonda road, you’ll spot the world go by as you enjoy your meal – and sometimes, even a cow that you can feed straight from your table. And with parking being an issue here, this spot has some limited parking available just outside the guest house they run on the same property. This is a value-for-money spot with great service, and you just can’t go wrong when you dine here – and that’s proof when you find that this restaurant has several tables occupied at all times.
